DELAYED
Due to circumstances there isn't much of an improvement in the new board(s).
More board shaping = less time on the water , and that's what Ive been doing lately, spending all my free time on the water!
Made a surf trip to pretty Normandy, in an even prettier car, improving myself by going to the local spots with my homie sam, and teaching Suteh to ride, and yesterday she did her first 20m!!! On a bwp-custom ( of course!!) !!
Also, more time in school-work = less Re-do's in the summer...so trying to work a bit on that too!
Also, have ridden some of the new 2009 boards, like naish and north, man...those things rock...
My boards are more like a rusty VeeDoubleU, while those new productions are like ferrari's , porche's , anything fast and easy handling!!
But hey, i made them myself ;) !
photo's coming soon ( again ) !
Aaand : keep your kite & car low!!!!

Guess who's back!
back again!
yeah happy newyear, been a while!
making a third board + thinking about a wave board
the third board will be a.ultrathin b.superfly c.best one ever cbis.because of the hype : biological degradable ( i mean : like dumping it in your compost bin and it will be (whoosh) : gone in like a month or 2 , jipikajee)
(about making the board : have only drawn it...realized that making board = time consuming, time consuming = less time , less time = less time to go to my homie the sea, less time to go to my homie the sea = cranky me, so forgive me if it takes a while...whoever is reading this blog
now for the ones acting a bit denialish ( does that word exist ) : the photo in on my cell phone, can't get it on the computer...text me on 0487-SAM-n°UNO if you want proove!!!
ah, the wave board : no comments yet
and if you are a fils a papa: buy a real car!!!

Part three
Everything's dry!
aaand some custom paintings!
Please step away a few feet from your screen,
you will be able to see the penguin-tree!
No board without a name! or brand! ;)
The fun part! The glassing! From this very moment, you actually see some result!
From this moment, the boy his smill gets bigger and bigger!!!
close-up!
Never try a rolling pin, it really is of no use...
In the vacuum!
Part two
Part one
Ok here is the process
First : drawing all the plans
outline
second outline
mould template
insert place
fin holes
Shipment of cores was on time!
Using 'Karuba' wood cores.
It's vertically laminated wood
+
drawing the outline and fin holes and insert...tralala
Getting some milling done! ( or 'frezen' as we call it in Belgium)
Thanks to little sista for offering me the killing machine!
not shown on pic : also did a little bit of jigsawing!
anddd it's done! core is complete, now starting to get my rails and inserts in.
Don't forget the fin placement holes!
Latest board
Here is the making of the Suteh Pro model. Dimensions are 124 X 39, rather small, as she ain't that big either! Ultra wide stance ( 40 cm ) for her, for the easy landing and carving ( we don't care about knees)!
Rails and tips are 4,5 mm ( have to get to 1 mm!) and center is 10 mm. A lot of inserts, wanted to be sure she could spread her footstraps wide enough so her (little) feet would fit in!
lay up is :
DD lacquer
2x 180 gr glass
'Karuba' wood core + custom paint
3x 180 gr glass
DD lacquer
As the core tends to reverse to it's originial flat shape, I tried a rocker of 15 cm on the rocker table, which resulted in 2.5 cm rocker.
some minor mistakes, like using not enough epoxy ( My mum let's me live on a budget... ) , so you can see a 'stamp' now and then. Also : never go straight down, when thinning the core ( has to be progressive ) the glass fibre doesn't like this! Result : some bubbles , but our next door doctor and his syringes helped me fix that!
because of smallband + dumb michelle , the internet is too too too slow for photo-uploading
soon!

Time for introduction!
Born in the alwayspuzzlingover brain of a frustrated boy. No sex-frustration, plenty of that. But the I'm-far-away-from-any-water-frustration with a little no-wind-frustration. Add a little bit of howdoesthatwork and plenty of Iwanttomakethatmyself (maybe also some of Iwanttogetextremelyrichbuthow?).
Well here is one of his projects :B&W PENGUIN CUSTOMS.
As the name may have revealed : there is a little side-kick, flown over from little Gambia! A white penguin on your board, means the 'work' (I rather call it 'pleasure') was delivered by the boy. May also refer to a negative penguin, just like the boy, always a bit excentric and contrary. When the black penguin is on your board, it means the board has been fine-tuned by the very delicate hands (oh yes they are small) of the girl!
NUFF SAID, the boy discovered he can NOT get rich making boards, but has found a new passion!
